Digital technology is increasingly becoming part of education, communication, employment, entrepreneurship and everyday life. For young people to participate meaningfully in this changing environment, access to technology needs to be accompanied by practical knowledge, confidence and responsible digital use.
Through its Digital Skills for Youth programme, Technology for Education & Green Energy (TEGE) promotes practical learning that helps young people understand and use digital tools in ways that support education, personal development, work and innovation.
TEGE's approach places emphasis on learning by doing. Young people can benefit from opportunities to practise computer and ICT skills, explore digital creativity, understand responsible Internet use and connect technology with real-world opportunities.
Digital literacy is not only about knowing how to operate a computer. It also involves understanding how digital tools can be used responsibly and creatively to solve problems, access information, communicate effectively and discover new opportunities.
Technology can create new pathways for young people to learn, collaborate and develop ideas. However, meaningful digital inclusion requires more than providing devices. It also requires supportive learning environments, relevant skills, mentorship, responsible use and opportunities to apply knowledge.
TEGE connects digital education with its wider commitment to innovation, environmental sustainability, green energy and community development. By bringing education, technology and sustainability together, TEGE seeks to support young people and communities to become active contributors to a more inclusive and sustainable future.
